Christmas and Such

Well, Macy survived her first Christmas...and let me tell you that it was busy! My parents left for Hawaii to visit my sister on Christmas Eve, so we went over to their house on the 20th. We enjoyed our ham and fixings and then opened gifts. Macy of course made out pretty well. I think Grandma bought every toy that Kohls had to offer :) She also got some adorable clothes from Aunt Steph and Aunt Jackie. On Christmas Eve it was off to Dan's parents' house for yummy appetizers and more presents. Macy was given her wardrobe for the next 3 months...again courtesy of Kohls. (Our mothers just bought out different sections of the store :) ) That night Dan and I also opened our gifts to each other. Dan got a robe and slippers, which he has been wearing non-stop since that night. I got a ring with Macy's birthstone in it...very pretty. It's being resized, and I can't wait to wear it! Christmas Day we spent at home. Steph came over for dinner, and we had a nice, relaxing day. Finally, last night we went over to Dan's grandma's house for a little get together with his relatives. It was nice for everyone to finally meet Macy, and of course, she was a hit.

Macy is absolutely huge! I can't believe she's outgrowing her 3 month things. We tried on a 6 month outfit today just out of curiosity. It's got some room, but it's definitely wearable. It's time to send most of the 3 month apparel off to Hawaii for baby Sadie. I still have a few sleepers that I can't part with, but otherwise the drawer has been restocked.

We also had a nice surprise last night. After a really bad night on Friday, Macy slept from 11 pm to 8 am without waking up! (9 hours for those of you non-math people :) ) Let's hope it keeps up!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and has a fun New Year's! Stay tuned for picture updates later tonight :)

Sorry

OK...so apparently people are still reading this blog! I didn't think anyone was still looking at it until I got scolded numerous times over the past week, so here we go. We're back!

Macy is now 11 weeks old! Since we last wrote, she has turned into a little person...not just a newborn baby anymore. It makes me so sad to see her getting so big, but at the same time, it's so fun to watch. At her two month appointment she was 10 pounds 13 ounces. She is all smiles, especially when we change her diaper. She is "talking" all the time and instead of crying when she's mad, she now yells at us. It is hilarious to see her little personality coming out. She has also found that her hands make a nice snack and once we saw her sucking her thumb. While I really don't want a thumbsucker, it was the cutest thing ever!

Macy (and her mom) also survived her two month shots. I had the mother of all colds that day, and I think I was more upset about it than she was. Dan was with me at the doctor, so that helped, but boy was it a traumatic experience! She did great of course, but I couldn't believe how hard that appointment was!

We also found out that Macy has a new cousin in Hawaii. Welcome to the world Sadie Lynn Seidl! We can't wait for the cousins to be able to play together :)

We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with both families and hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday!
