Week 14

I went to the doctor today for my second appointment and came back with only good news. I've gained the right amount of weight, and my blood pressure is good. Baby's heart rate was around 160, so my doctor thinks it's a girl. I have a strong feeling that it's a boy, but I guess we'll wait and see...either four weeks from now or 26 weeks from now depending on what Dan wants to do. I also think I felt baby moving around last night. I woke up around 3:00 and felt some fluttering going on. If this kid is anything like Macy was, he or she will be a night owl waking me up with the kicks all night long! I didn't schedule the ultrasound yet, but it will be sometime in the month of October, so stay tuned. :)

Funny daycare story: I picked Macy up yesterday and her hair was out of control. Dan has been putting two barrettes in because he refuses to try a ponytail. When I picked her up one of the barrettes was upside down, causing her hair on that side to stick straight out to the side. The other barrette was hanging on by about two hairs right on her cheek. Even her teacher, Miss Sue, said, "Macy, what is up with your hair?" She thought her mom (the other teacher) had done it, but I told her that I thought it was Dan. I explained to her his ponytail reluctance, and she said that she would do it if he brought in a tie. So today when I picked her up she had a cute little ponytail. :)

Final thought...Love you Hansee!

Teething

Well, I don't want to jinx it, but I think I am over the "feel like crap" phase. I had a few nights last week where I didn't sleep much. I woke up every two hours for no reason and did not feel well at all during the day. Then one morning I woke up and had a tiny baby belly and felt great. Since then, I haven't had the all day sickness and haven't had to only eat bland foods. So hopefully we're past that part. A teacher at school asked me if this was the last child for us. I told him that this is not the time to ask me that question. :) My next doctor's appointment is this Friday, so let's hope that everything is OK then!

Macy's had a good week. She's getting her two-year molars in so that's been a little rough. She's drooling a lot and has her hands in her mouth constantly. This also means that she's not sleeping well either. There are two reasons our child wakes up in the middle of the night: 1. She has an ear infection and 2. She's teething. Her ears aren't draining, so it has to be the teeth. I think Motrin will be our nighttime friend for a little while. We did have a fun day outside in the GORGEOUS weather today. Dan set up a mini-tennis net in the driveway and we hit the foam balls back and forth while Macy played with her racket and ball. Yes...she all ready has her own racket. It was sad to come in because I don't think we'll have many more nice days like this for a long time.

New Addition

Well, since we have news to share, I figured it would be a good time to start up the blog again. We are expecting Baby 2 in March. The due date is the 14th, so we're hoping to make it that long because that would be EXACTLY twelve weeks until the end of the school year. I have been feeling pretty crummy and tired for the past six weeks, but I'm OK with that. It just means that the hormones are flowing and that the baby is doing well. I actually got to hear a heartbeat at my 10 week appointment so that was reassuring. Baby swam away pretty quickly, but it was definitely there for me to hear! Macy knows that there is a baby in Mommy's tummy, even though I know she doesn't know what's coming. She says hi and night-night to it daily, and I think (keep your fingers crossed) she will be a great big sister.

Speaking of Macy, she is definitely almost two! She's has crazy amounts of energy and cracks us up with the words that come out of her mouth. She loves to read books and, lately, to play with her kitchen. She likes to dress up in her apron and pretend to eat the play food. She likes anything to do with Sesame Street and really enjoys her popsicle and Backyardigans time before bed. She has also developed her two year old attitude, where she likes to push the limits. We've done some time outs, which are NOT fun but seem to help her understand. But all in all we are really lucky to have such a well-mannered and adorable little girl. (It breaks my heart not to call her a baby anymore, but she truly is a little girl now!)

That's the update for now. I'll try to write more often with news on Macy and the new one as things begin to unfold.
