Christmas and New Bed

I have to say that this Christmas was one of the most fun we've had in a long time. Macy was so into it this year and really made the time worthwhile. We did a lot of celebrating. Christmas Eve we spent at my parents' house opening gifts with my mom, dad, and Steph. Macy got a haul, as usual, and was hilarious opening the presents. At one point she looked at me with huge eyes and said in the most serious voice, "Oh my god." We quickly corrected her to say "gosh" instead, but everyone was laughing and thought it was quite amusing. She has never used that phrase before, and to be honest, we don't know where it came from. Dan and I have been very careful with what we say in front of the little parakeet, but she obviously heard it somewhere. By the end of the night it was "Oh my gosh" and still adorable. Christmas morning Santa came, and Macy got to see her new tent set up in the living room. It's shaped like a tree trunk, and although while we were videotaping her walking in to see it for the first time she cried in terror, she spends every minute in it now. Dan's family came over around 10:00 - his mom, dad, Dave, Liz, and grandma and grandpa. I cooked breakfast for everyone and we did more gift opening. Macy got a bunch of things for her new bedroom and everyone had good conversation and fun with all the homemade gifts. It's always interesting to see what Dave comes up with! Then Christmas night we went back to my parents' house for dinner with the family and some friends. It was a long two days, but they flew by, and Macy certainly loved all the attention.

With all the work mostly complete on Macy's new bedroom, we also decided that it was time to try out the bed. Macy took her nap in it yesterday and did great, so we decided to go all out and put her in it last night. She didn't make a peep and was so proud of herself this morning. (Of course Dan and I made a HUGE deal about it.) I can't believe that she is such a big girl and doesn't need (or want) her crib anymore. She even tells us that her old room is baby's room now. We are moving everything that's hers out of there today, so it will be official. She's definitely not a baby anymore. Wow.

I have my second ultrasound tomorrow to view the few things that baby didn't cooperate with the first time. Hopefully this will be the last one. He's a squirmy little guy, so maybe we'll get lucky. Eleven weeks to go until the arrival of this new little one! I hope we are all ready for this!
